Volunteer Training

If you are interested in volunteering with Safe Shelter, please consider joining us for our Volunteer training starting the end of January! Volunteer training is mandatory for all perspective volunteers. The training consists of two parts – interactive classroom training and “hands-on” training. Classroom training (approximately 30 hours) covers a broad range of domestic violence related issues. Further training in the specific area in which the volunteer will be working is required to gain a stronger understanding. Hands-on training which takes 4 – 8 hours, is a time when the volunteer works with supportive supervision.
