Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
February 1, 2019 - February 28, 2019
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month! This is a national effort to raise awareness about abuse in teen and 20-something relationships and promote programs that prevent it. Help us with education and prevention strategies with the community throughout the month. Events will be added as they are confirmed, so keep checking back!
With Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month here, we would love to focus on the teens in our emergency shelter by updating and revamping our “Teen Room.” This is a place for teens to hang out and have space and alone time. Some of the items needed include:
- Gaming System (i.e., Xbox and accessories) and non-violent games
- Speakers (Bluetooth or small portable)
- Teen games (Jenga, Battleship, Heads up)
- Fidget Toys
- Crosswords, word searches and Sudoku.
- Adult coloring books
- TV Stand
- Lava Lamp
- Bean Bags
